REASON WHY BIRDS ARE NOT ELECTROCUTED WHEN PERCH ON HIGH TENSION WIRE

Hitherto, many people still believe that the only reason why birds is not shocked by electric current when they perch on high tension wire is because of the insulated scale around their foot, well they are right in the believe, but that is not the only and tangible reason for the phenomenon. Conventionally speaking electric current travels in a straight line along a conductor e.g wire, from high electric potential to the low electric potential when the circuit is completed i.e the flow path of an electric circuit. When the bird perch on the high tension wire
with the two foot on the same wire, no current will pass through its body because for current to flow there must be an existing potential difference between the bird’s body and the wire. Since the same feet of the bird are on the same wire, they said to have the same electrical potential so the current will just neglect the bird and continue traveling to the other side of the wire. The point where the bird is standing is called the equipotential surface. But if the bird while still standing on the wire with one leg uses the other leg and touches another wire or the ground or any other thing away from the wire it was initially standing on, it will thereby cause a difference in the electric potential and also completing the flow path of the electric circuit, definitely current must flow from the high electric potential which is the wire to the low electric potential which is the bird, and when this happens much current will accumulate in the body of the bird which it cannot carry and as a result of that the bird will surely die instantly. Or if the bird crosses one of its legs to another wire, as initially stated that current flow in one direction in a straight line, once the current traveling in that wire reaches the first foot of the bird, it will notice a change in electric potential and will try to go through the bird, but unfortunately for the current it will meet another wire which is not proper for it to trespass into, because it normally flow in one direction in a straight line of a wire, as a result of this it will throw off its obstructer which is the bird and continue its journey in the initial wire. Nevertheless this can also work in human beings. When one hang down from one of this tension wires with his two hands without touching the ground or any other thing away from the wire, definitely there won’t be an electric shock because current will always pass through the body without realizing and continues its journey to the other side of the wire., but if the person touches the leg on the ground while still holding the wire will surely have a shock if not probably death , because the earth is at low electric potential which will try to conduct as much current as it can from the high electric potential wire through the person, thereby causing much current to accumulate in the person’s body during the transfer, then leading to electrocution. This is exactly why it is always advisable to be wearing an insulator material e.g slipper whenever you want to touch a naked wire while wearing the slippers on standing on the ground it can protect you from the shock of the current, the only thing the current can do u is to throw you off, because as the current is passing through your body, when it reaches your foot the insulator you are wearing will resist the current from going inside the ground as a result of this the current will just throw you off without shocking. WARNING: please do not try this at home, that of hanging yourself down from a high tension wire and holding the wire, do not go and risk your life in the name of practice because you may not perform the experiment well and you may not survive it due to carelessness. Just believe all that I have stated above, but if you want to know more you can use bird and do the exercise.  THANKS AND GOODLUCK!.
